The Board of Zoning Appeals will be meeting at 5:30 and following them the Planning Commission will be meeting at 6:00! Stop by for some dinner and come check out what our boards do!

Traffic on Louisville Road is backed up due to trees falling on power lines just past the shell station on Louisville Road. The red lights at Louisville Road and Topside as well as Louisville Road and Profit Springs Road are currently out. Please plan for extra time and use extra caution while traveling on this road. The Board of Mayor and Alderman will be meeting with MTAS representative Angie Carrier tomorrow, March 14, 2024 at 10:00 a.m. to go over the Town's codification and discuss any changes they would like to have made regarding rules, regulations, ordinances, or resolutions. This is an open meeting and citizens are welcome to attend.

Town of Louisville residents: We received notice that the Tennessee Department of Transportation is going to be holding a public meeting on Thursday, March 28, 2024 from 4:30-8:00 p.m. at the Louisville Town Hall. State personnel will be in attendance to answer any questions you may have. This project is a road widening project that will happen on Louisville road to help with traffic for a new project that the City of Alcoa is working on. We encourage all citizens to come to this meeting and voice any concerns you may have regarding this proposed project.

Reminder: The Board of Mayor and Alderman will meet tomorrow, February 13, 2024. There will be a workshop to discuss the draft audit for fiscal year ending 2023 held at 5:00 p.m. Then at 5:45 p.m. there will be a public hearing for the second reading of an ordinance of the Board of Mayor and Alderman amending the text of the zoning ordinance of the Town of Louisville, Tennessee Section 11-507, accessory building and use regulations. Following both of those meetings the regularly scheduled BMA meeting will begin at 6:00 p.m. These meetings are held in the Community Center at Town Hall. 3623 Louisville Road, Louisville, TN 37777 For any questions or concerns please call 865-681-1983

Our thoughts and prayers are with the family of Deputy Greg McCowan who was killed in the line of duty last night. Also, we continue to pray for Deputy Shelby Eggers who was injured during the same incident last night. We are so thankful for the Blount County Sheriff's Office and all they do to keep us safe.

Wind Chill Advisory WHAT... Very cold wind chills expected. Wind chills as low as 15 below zero. WHERE... Portions of East Tennessee and Southwest Virginia WHEN... For the Winter Storm Warning, until 7 AM EST this morning. For the Wind Chill Advisory, from 5 PM this afternoon to noon EST Wednesday. IMPACTS... Plan on slippery road conditions. The cold wind chills could result in hypothermia if precautions are not taken. ADDITIONAL DEATILS... Even after snow and freezing drizzle have ended, icy hazardous travel is expected today and tonight, especially on untreated roads. PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS... Use caution while traveling outside. Wear appropriate clothing, a hat, and gloves. Please do not travel unless you HAVE to. Stay safe, stay warm, and have fun in the snow Louisville!!

The Planning Commission meeting that was to be held tomorrow 1/16/2024 at 6:00 p.m has been rescheduled to Monday 1/22/2024 at 6:00 p.m.

WINTER STORM WARNING Get ready and stay prepared Louisville! A winter storm warning is in effect from 1 AM EST/ Monday to 7 AM EST/ Tuesday. WHAT... Heavy snowfall expected with total accumulation of 3 to 6 inches. With a possibility of local higher amounts. WHERE... Most if not all of East Tennessee. WHEN... The snowfall is expected to start around 10 PM EST/ Sunday night if not sooner and continue until 7 AM EST/ Tuesday morning. IMPACTS... Please be cautious while traveling as slippery road conditions are anticipated. This could affect both morning and evening commutes. If you must travel, it's advisable to keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in your vehicle for emergency situations. REMINDER... The Town Hall is closed tomorrow. If there is a tree down in your road or a road you are traveling on call the non-emergency number (865)983-3620 and they will contact one of our Highway & Streets workers. From Blount County Mayor's Office: The warming center will be opening today, Thursday January 4th at 7pm and closing at 7am on Friday the 5th. There will be a hot meal served tonight and for breakfast tomorrow. The warming center is located at 202 W. Lamar Alexander Pkwy. Maryville, TN 37801.
